WASHINGTON (AP) - Federal employees who work in and around the District of Columbia will only have three days of work the week of January 16.

That’s because both the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump and the holiday honoring Martin Luther King Jr. fall that same week.

Beth F. Cobert is director of the Office of Personnel Management. WRC-TV (https://bit.ly/2gZ1sj8 ) reports that Cobert issued a memo Friday that says workers should anticipate delays getting into work that week to road closures and security preparations ahead of the Jan. 20 inauguration.

Jan. 20 is a holiday for federal employees who work in Washington, Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties in Maryland, Arlington and Fairfax Counties in Virginia and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax and Falls Church in Virginia.
