NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey man has been charged with killing a man and his 1-year-old nephew in a shooting that left two other people injured last month in Orange.

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray said Saturday that 28-year-old Stevenson Valentin, of Maplewood, was charged in the deaths of 21-year-old Morlens Milice and 1-year-old Marcus Milien.

The boy’s father and a 15-year-old were also shot, but survived.

Stevenson was arrested after a traffic stop in Newark Saturday.

He was being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility on $1 million bail. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had an attorney to comment on his behalf.

Investigators didn’t comment on the motive for the shooting.
