MADISON, Wis. (AP) - A Madison-based electronic musician was supposed to perform at an Oakland, California, warehouse where a deadly fire broke out at a late-night dance party.

Joel Shanahan performs as Golden Donna. The Capital Times (https://bit.ly/2gVnnJ7 ) reports Shanahan posted on Facebook that he is safe.

In his post Saturday morning, Shanahan said he does not have “the words to describe the terror and heartbreak” that he feels.

Officials say the death toll from the fire has risen to 30. Crews expect to find more victims.

Friday night’s event was to feature Golden Donna’s 100 Percent Silk West Coast tour. Officials believed 50 to 100 people may have been in attendance.
