DURANGO, Colo. (AP) - A marijuana testing company is preparing to open its doors next month in Durango after receiving a license from the city last week.

The Durango Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2fY4Gaz ) Green Lab Solutions owner Steve Ottersberg says his company is one of 15 certified laboratories statewide that will oversee the testing results for hundreds of grow facilities. The labs test for marijuana potency as well as mold and bacteria.

Ottersberg says medical marijuana growers have until April 1 to come into compliance with a state rule that requires them to have their products tested. The state’s Marijuana Enforcement Division had initially been set to take effect this past July.

Green Lab Solutions is also working to get licensed by the state health department so it can get up and running by January.
