WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - The third Wilmington firefighter who died following a September rowhouse fire is going to be laid to rest over the weekend.

Funeral services for 48-year-old Senior Firefighter Ardythe Hope will be held Saturday at the Chase Center on the Riverfront. A public viewing will begin at 10 a.m. and last until noon. A public funeral and memorial will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Hope, a 23-year veteran, spent more than two months in a Chester, Pennsylvania hospital before she died of her injuries Thursday.

Lt. Christopher Leach and Senior Firefighter Jerry Fickes were also killed in the Sept. 24 fire.

Fire chief Anthony Goode said Friday that Hope intended to retire from the department in January to pursue a career in nursing.
