WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - A 30-year-old man has been given 35 years in prison for shooting to death and robbing a man in Waterloo.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports that (https://bit.ly/2he23ll ) Orlando Moore Jr. was sentenced Monday. He’d pleaded guilty to robbery and involuntary manslaughter. He must also pay $150,000 in restitution to the estate of his victim.

Prosecutors say Moore killed 26-year-old Anthony “T.J.” Gardner, of Des Moines, in a dispute over money on Dec. 22, 2012.

Black Hawk County Attorney Brian Williams says trouble with reluctant witnesses led to a plea agreement that reduced a first-degree murder charge to involuntary manslaughter.
