ROGERSVILLE, Mo. (AP) - A southwest Missouri woman is charged with rolling on top of her 3-month-old son and suffocating him while sleeping and under the influence of methamphetamine, marijuana and the anti-anxiety drug Xanax.

KOLR-TV (https://bit.ly/2gzFiE8 ) reports that 21-year Arizona Sallee, of Rogersville, is jailed on $25,000 bond in Webster County on an involuntary manslaughter charge. Her public defender didn’t immediately return a phone message from The Associated Press.

Court documents say Sallee originally lied to investigators, claiming the baby wasn’t in the bed with her. She discovered the infant dead when she woke up early on the morning of Nov. 26.

An autopsy showed the baby died of injuries consistent with asphyxiation. A drug test performed on Sallee also confirmed the presence of drugs in her system.
