CAMDEN, S.C. (AP) - Kershaw County authorities say they’ve arrested a man who was driving at speeds of up to 120 mph.

Sheriff Jim Matthews says 32-year-old Shamari Jones was arrested Saturday and charged with speeding, failure to stop for blue lights and drug possession.

Matthews says a deputy responding to complaints about drivers speeding in wooded, residential areas of Kershaw County spotted Jones driving 105 mph. Matthews says the deputy tried to stop Jones, who then sped away, reaching speeds of up to 120 mph along curves.

The sheriff says Jones eventually stopped and was arrested without further incident. A substance suspected to be crack cocaine was found in his car.

Jones was released from jail on bond. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had an attorney.
