SOUTH BELOIT, Ill. (AP) - Authorities say a 78-year-old Wisconsin woman has died following a wrong-way crash on Interstate 90 in northern Illinois.

Illinois State Police say the woman from Janesville was driving a car eastbound in the westbound lanes of the freeway near the South Beloit Toll Plaza in Winnebago County on Monday when she collided head-on with another vehicle. Police say the woman died at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, who was identified as a 25-year-old man from Loves Park, Illinois, was taken to a hospital with what were described as non-life threatening injuries. The freeway fully reopened Monday and the crash is under investigation.
