WASHINGTON (AP) - A worker quit his job after he says he found two nooses at a Washington construction site last week.

Terrell Powell, an electrician’s apprentice working on the wharf construction project in southwest Washington, tells WTTG-TV (https://bit.ly/2g5fwf5) that he walked off the job after discovering the nooses in two different locations Nov. 28.

The site is being run by Clark Construction Group, LLC.

Powell says he felt like he was being targeted, although he says there had been no trouble on the job.

Clark Construction Group spokesman Matt Haas said Monday that an investigation determined a subcontractor employee was “involved in the incident” and was immediately terminated from the project.

Haas says the company doesn’t tolerate this type of action on its projects. Powell has since found a new job.
