ARIVACA, Ariz. (AP) - The Border Patrol says agents working an immigration checkpoint in southern Arizona found a trailer lugging two horses - and 740 pounds of pot.

The Border Patrol says the incident happened on Thursday in Arivaca when a pickup truck pulling the horse trailer passed through the immigration checkpoint.

A Border Patrol canine sniffed and alerted agents to the front of the trailer, which had 31 bundles of marijuana worth an estimated $370,000.

The driver, an American citizen, was arrested. The passenger jumped from the truck and fled but was later caught. The passenger was also a U.S. citizen.
