KENAI, Alaska (AP) - A 23-year-old Soldotna man Thursday died in a crash between two pickups.

The Peninsula Clarion (https://bit.ly/2hdXJlB), a Kenai newspaper, reports Steven Marshall died in the crash near the intersection of the Sterling Highway and Mackey Lake Road.

The driver of the second truck, 73-year-old Thomas Varieur of Kenai, was taken by ambulance to Central Peninsula Hospital for treatment of injuries.

The crashed occurred shortly before noon Thursday. Officer Tobin Brennan says one truck crossed the center line and struck the other.

He says additional details regarding the crash could not be immediately released.
