One of the stars of Paramount Pictures’ “Office Christmas Party” was arrested Friday morning over the alleged battery of an Uber driver.

T.J. Miller attended the “GQ Men of the Year party” in Hollywood Thursday night, but found himself arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department before going to bed early Friday. Sources within the LAPD told entertainment website TMZ that Mr. Miller allegedly hit an Uber driver after having a debate about President-elect Donald Trump.

“It didn’t happen in front of officers,” LAPD spokeswoman Officer Jenny Houser told the Los Angeles Times on Friday.

Officer Houser said the comedian, who also starred in “Deadpool” and HBO’s “Silicon Valley,” was cited on a misdemeanor offense and released.

“The driver claims T.J. slapped him in the head when they got to his house,” sources told TMZ.

Mr. Miller has made no secret of his disdain for Mr. Trump on social media or during television interviews. Last month he lit a Trump tie on fire during a taping of “The Conan Show” and put the flames out by tap-dancing on the garment.

“Office Christmas Party,” directed by Josh Gordon and Will Speck, was released in North American theaters on Friday.
