LAKE ANDES, S.D. (AP) - Authorities say an 18-year-old South Dakota man caused about $50,000 in damage to a Lake Andes grain elevator over the weekend.

Hazen Winckler is facing five charges, including burglary and intentional damage to property. The Daily Republic reports (https://bit.ly/1UEqRME ) he was arrested Saturday at the Lake Andes Coop Elevator.

The Charles Mix County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary alarm at the elevator shortly after 8 p.m. Sheriff Randy Thaler says they found Winckler in the office area “rummaging through cabinets.”

Officials say they concluded that Winckler caused over $50,000 worth of damage to computer equipment.

Winckler is also being held on a no bond warrant out of Davison County for unrelated charges.
