KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) - A Flathead High School student has been arrested after staff say they found a loaded handgun in his backpack.

Kalispell Public Schools Superintendent Mark Flatau says the gun was found Friday when administrators investigated reports of alcohol at the school. Flatau says no one was hurt or in immediate danger.

Administrators say the student told them he took the weapon to school to sell it.

Flatau says a second student is also in police custody.

According to school policy, a student who uses, possesses or transfers a firearm will be expelled for at least one year.
