DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — An Iranian drone that flew over a U.S. aircraft carrier last month was the first to conduct an overflight of an American carrier since 2014.

That’s according to an internal U.S. Navy report on the Jan. 12 incident obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press through a Freedom of Information Act request.

That footage shows what the U.S. Navy identifies as the Iranian Shahed drone that flew over the USS Harry S. Truman, based out of Norfolk, Virginia. “Shahed” means “witness” in both Farsi and Arabic.

The U.S. Navy report says the last Iranian drone overflight happened in September 2014 and involved the USS George H.W. Bush aircraft carrier.

The drone overflight is the latest edgy Persian Gulf naval encounter between Iran and the U.S. after the recent nuclear deal.
