EUNICE, La. (AP) - Authorities have identified the body of a man who was found over a week ago and have ruled his death a homicide.

Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot says 22-year-old Akeem Caesar, of Eunice, was shot to death in a wooded area off Louisiana Highway 13.

KLFY-TV (https://bit.ly/1o4IDif ) reports Caesar’s body was found by a group of rabbit hunters, who were running their dogs to scout for game, Feb. 1.

Ceasar had been missing since Dec. 24.

Police “received results of DNA tests Wednesday positively identifying Ceasar as the victim

The chief is asking anyone who had seen Caesar before or after Christmas Eve or has any other information to call the police at 337-457-2626.
