HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) - Fire crews have rescued a person trapped in a vehicle that crashed into the Great Miami River in southwestern Ohio.

Authorities say rescue crews responded late Wednesday night to a report of a car that had crashed. They found a car that apparently had rolled down an embankment and ended up on its top in the river.

Huber Heights battalion Chief Michael Muhl says crews had to put on insulated dry suits to avoid hypothermia in the extremely cold temperatures. But he says they were able to get into the frigid water and stabilize the car. Muhl says the driver was taken to a hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening.

The accident is still under investigation. But police say alcohol may have played a role.
