PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pittsburgh police have identified a domestic violence suspect arrested after a SWAT standoff in the city’s Mount Washington neighborhood.

Police say 24-year-old Dayvon Pack was arguing with a female inside a home on Merrimac Street when he gained access to a firearm and threatened to harm her around 9 p.m. Wednesday. The female and others inside the home managed to flee.

Police say the man refused to come out before the SWAT team fired gas canisters into the home. Pack then peacefully surrendered.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for Pack, who was in custody awaiting arraignment Thursday on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault, and possessing an instrument of crime.

Pack is awaiting trial on charges he fought with officers during a drunken driving stop in October.
