MONTICELLO, Ark. (AP) - The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team is scheduled to play a three-game homestand this weekend against No. 9 Minnesota State.

The series begins Friday with a double-header and the third game will be played Saturday at Weevils Field.

UAM (3-1) opened the year at the Houston Winter Invitational with a 2-1 record. It beat Tarleton State 10-6, beat Central Missouri 5-4 and lost to No. 12 St. Mary’s 13-5. On Tuesday, UAM beat Delta State 13-10 in its first home game of the season.

Minnesota State will open its season this weekend in Monticello.

The Mavericks went 43-9 last season and advanced to the third round of the NCAA regional tournament .
