NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) - State forestry officials are on the scene of another wildfire in Natchitoches Parish.

Thursday’s fire is along Louisiana Highway 117 southwest of Natchitoches.

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 4 a.m. after a building fire spread into a wooded area.

The fire was reported just after 11 a.m. Tuesday. According to state officials, the acreage burned consists of timber company, privately owned and US Forest Service land.

The sheriff’s office says that fire is out.

The cause of the fire in the Gorum/Flatwoods area is under investigation.

No injuries have been reported.
