CONWAY, Ark. (AP) - The Faulkner County Election Commission has squashed rumors around a sheriff’s candidate in the March 1 primary election.

Commission chair Paul Foster says Republican Joe Taylor filed a complaint against his rival for sheriff, Republican Tim Ryals, to confirm whether the Conway address Ryals listed on his candidate information sheet when he filed to run is actually where the candidate lives.

The Log Cabin Democrat (https://bit.ly/1Rw5EGc ) reports that County Attorney David Hogue investigated the complaint and found that Ryals lives in Faulkner County and is eligible to run.

Hogue says Ryals assessed his personal property in Faulkner County in April 2015. The rumors likely surfaced after the assessment was transferred to Cleburne County before being transferred back to Faulkner County in October 2015.

The commission approved accepting Hogue’s findings.
