SEASIDE, Ore. (AP) - The Oregon Department of Transportation reminds those traveling to the North Coast that traffic will be slow on U.S. 101 because of the public memorial for Seaside Police Sgt. Jason Goodding.

Friday’s service starts at 1 p.m. But the law enforcement procession will start more than two hours before that, traveling from Camp Rilea south on U.S. 101 to the Seaside Convention Center.

Delays are also anticipated after the service as mourners leave Seaside.

Sgt. Goodding was fatally shot while making an arrest last Friday in downtown Seaside.
