NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Funeral services were set Saturday for Helen Amber Koenig, a New Orleans retailer who for decades provided feathers, glitter and beads for Mardi Gras costumes.

Koenig gained local fame as a supplier of raw materials for the elaborate handmade costumes of Mardi Gras Indians - African-Americans who adopt dress influenced by American Indian ceremonial garb.

Koenig died Monday at age 94. The Jacob Schoen & Son funeral home said services were set for 12:15 p.m. in New Orleans.

Funeral director Kevin Hasson said Friday that Mardi Gras Indians were scheduled to honor Koenig at the funeral home at 10 a.m.
