BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Adrian Rodgers scored 12 points, Christopher Hyder added 10, and Southern used a balanced scoring effort to beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 66-58 on Saturday.

Eight players scored between five and 12 points for the Jaguars (17-8, 9-3 Southwestern Athletic Conference), who bounced back after having their eight-game winning streak snapped in an 81-80 loss at Jackson State on Monday.

Southern led 32-25 at intermission and pushed its lead to 19 with a 13-1 run with 8:10 remaining, capped by a 3-pointer from Shawn Prudhomme, who finished with nine points and four rebounds.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff worked the deficit down to six with a minute left but couldn’t completely dig itself out.

Ghiavonni Robinson led the Golden Lions (6-20, 4-8) with 17 points, and Marcus Wallace added 12.

Southern shot 47 percent from the field and assisted on 13 of 24 made baskets.
