GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Glendale police say a man driving with a suspended license has been arrested in a fatal collision with a pedestrian.

KNXV-TV in Phoenix reports (https://bit.ly/212ECss) that the collision happened Saturday around 9:30 p.m. near 65th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.

According to investigators, 58-year-old Demonia Sanders was crossing the street mid-block when she was struck.

Sanders was taken to a hospital where she died from her injuries.

Police say the driver, 34-year-odl Erick Vazquez-Barragan, stayed at the scene.



They say Vazquez-Barragan showed signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested for DUI and driving with a suspended license.

It was not immediately known if he had an attorney.
