GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - An underground pipeline has leaked an undetermined amount of oil into a seasonal creek bed and through a culvert east of Gillette.

The Gillette News Record reports ( ) the pipeline began leaking Sunday afternoon but has since been shut down. The spill affected about a quarter mile of the creek bed.

Fire Marshal Eric Acton says the extent of the damage and the amount of oil that spilled wasn’t immediately available.

The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality will be responsible for deciding which agency will be primarily responsible for the cleanup, as well as figuring out the size of the spill.
