PITTSBURGH (AP) - Authorities in western Pennsylvania say police searching for a shooting suspect followed tracks in the snow to a nearby home.

Public safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler said a man was found lying in the street in the Perry North neighborhood with multiple gunshot wounds shortly after 1:30 p.m. Monday. He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital and pronounced dead shortly afterward.

Officers tracked a suspect’s footprints in the snow to a nearby house where SWAT team members were called and awaited a warrant to search the home. Toler said police weren’t sure whether the suspect was still armed, believing he may have discarded his weapon between the two homes

Pittsburgh Public Schools delayed dismissal at Pittsburgh Perry High School but later lifted the lockdown and said students were being dismissed.
