BALTIMORE (AP) - Maryland Transportation Authority Police arrested two people after 18 pounds of marijuana were found in their car during a traffic stop on Interstate 95 in Baltimore.

Police said in a news release that an officer stopped a car traveling southbound just before the Fort McHenry Tunnel toll plaza on Saturday night. Authorities say the car did not have its headlights on.

Investigators say the driver and passenger were interviewed, and police found the marijuana in a knapsack in the car’s rear cargo area.

The driver, 42-year-old Georgia Palmer of Columbia, and the passenger, 48-year-old John March of Kingston, Jamaica, were charged with drug possession and possession with intent to distribute. Palmer was also charged with traffic offenses.
