TONW OF NEWTON, Wis. (AP) - Developers say they’ve raised more than half the money needed for a new Wisconsin Agricultural Education Center.

The $11.6 million center is destined for Manitowoc County, just off Interstate 43. The center’s director, Melissa Bender, tells WLUK-TV (https://bit.ly/1PCWGUZ ) the ‘state of the art’ facility will provide hands-on education about the agricultural industry, from corn to soybeans to cranberries. Part of the facility will allow visitors to see calves being born. And there will be tours of a working dairy farm.

Bender says a recent $250,000 donation from Riesterer & Schnell has helped developers reach 65 percent of their financing goal.
