MORRISTOWN, N.J. (AP) - Family members say a New Jersey state judge is hospitalized in grave condition following a fall last week.

Superior Court Judge Edward Gannon was injured in Boonton on Friday and since then has been on life support. Gannon’s brother confirmed the 63-year-old jurist suffered a serious head injury in the fall, but has declined further comment on the incident.

Gannon was appointed to the Morris-Sussex vicinage in 1991 and has handled civil, criminal and family division matters during his tenure on the bench. He also served as a judge in Passaic County.
