VERONA, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania paramedic has been suspended and jailed on charges he sexually assaulted a mentally disabled woman inside an ambulance.

Fifty-year-old Parker Foster Jr., of Greensburg, faces a preliminary hearing Feb. 22 on charges including rape and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.

Police say Foster met the woman at the Guardian Angel Ambulance Service in Verona, where Foster worked. She wasn’t a patient.

Police say the woman was extremely vulnerable and called Foster when he offered to take her to get ice cream. Police say Foster groped the woman and forced her to perform a sex act on Jan. 25, then assaulted her the next day when she returned to the ambulance service.

That happened after the woman told Foster she wanted to see the inside of an ambulance.

Foster doesn’t have an attorney listed in court records.
