TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A popular trail at Saguaro National Park east of Tucson will undergo changes to make it wheelchair accessible.

The Arizona Daily Star reports (https://bit.ly/1R6eWqk ) that the 0.7-mile Mica View Trail will be upgraded and given a hardened surface to make it suitable for visitors who use a wheelchair or other equipment to assist with mobility.

The trail will be closed from Feb. 22 through May while work is under way, but once it’s reopened, it will meet the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act for recreation trails.

A cost estimate wasn’t available for the project, but park officials say it will be partially funded through grants from the Friends of Saguaro National Park and the Arizona Trails Heritage Fund.
