JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) - Officials say three people are dead after a house fire in West Tennessee.

Fire Marshal Lamar Childress told The Jackson Sun (bit.ly/1XxR8OL) that two adults and a child died and four other people were injured in the blaze. Firefighters were called to the home in Jackson about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

A 33-year-old man and a 17-year-old were being treated at hospitals for injuries, while children ages 15 and 11 were treated and released.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but Childress said it appears to have started in the kitchen.

Childress says the house was a rental property and investigators found no sign of smoke detectors inside.

Officials have not released the names of the victims.
