SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Authorities have cited eight people, including three teenagers, for their involvement in a disturbance at Southwood High School.

Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator says as students were being dropped off Tuesday morning, an argument involving parents and students broke out about 8:25 a.m. in the front breezeway of the school near the bus ramp.

The sheriff’s office says the exchange involved yelling, posturing, and profanity but did not include any physical fighting.

School faculty witnessed the altercation and alerted the sheriff’s deputy who serves as the school resource officer. He and other patrol deputies separated the people involved and issued each a summons for disturbing the peace.

The incident is believed to be part of an ongoing disagreement involving the juveniles and their parents.
