ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Joe Cremo scored 16 points, Peter Hooley had 14 points and 12 rebounds and Albany (N.Y.) snapped Stony Brook’s nation-leading 18-game winning streak in an 82-70 victory Wednesday night.

Stony Brook still holds a two-game lead over Albany in the America East Conference standings.

Albany (22-7, 11-3) held a 37-30 lead at halftime after hitting 5 of 7 3-pointers in front of a sellout crowd of 4,538 at SEFCU Arena.

Jameel Warney became the all-time leading scorer in Stony Brook’s program history, passing Emeka Smith (1,978) who played from 1989-93 when the Seawolves competed in Division II. Warney needed just eight points to surpass Smith and finished with 14. He already holds the school records for total rebounds and blocks.

Stony Brook (22-5, 13-1) lost for the first time since Dec. 12 against Northeastern. Last season, the Seawolves handed Albany its only conference loss.
