LOS ANGELES (AP) - A massive electrical transformer has fallen on a pickup truck in a Los Angeles neighborhood, killing the driver.

Authorities say the pickup was involved in a three-car crash before it plowed into a power pole and knocked down three transformers around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Arleta.

One transformer crushed the truck cab.

The Fire Department says two people in the other cars had only minor injuries.

Electricity to the transformers was cut as crews worked to remove the transformers and the driver’s body.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power says about 250 people were left without power.
