BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) - A former high school teacher who resigned amid a police investigation involving a student has been arrested on a harassment charge.

Michael Archangelo was arrested Wednesday and charged with second-degree harassment and risk of injury to a minor.

Archangelo was a physical education teacher and football coach at Bristol Eastern High School.

Authorities say Archangelo resigned in December amid a police investigation involving a 14-year-old student. No further details were immediately available.

The warrant in the case was sealed by a judge.

A message left for Bristol Superintendent of Schools Ellen Solek wasn’t immediately returned.

It’s unclear whether Archangelo is represented by an attorney.

He posted $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Feb. 29 in Bristol Superior Court.
