BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut jury has convicted a man of murder in the 2007 shooting death of a 25-year-old man.

The Connecticut Post reports (https://bit.ly/1TnF95C ) 31-year-old Nirone Hutton was found guilty of murder Tuesday in a Bridgeport court. He faces 60 years in prison when he’s sentenced on March 29.

Juan Marcano was found in the stairwell of a building on Feb. 27, 2007 with life-threatening injuries. Witnesses testified that Marcano had been confronted by gang members. Police said Hutton then shot Marcano in the back.

Authorities said Hutton admitted to shooting Marcano, but claimed that he shot him in self-defense.
