ARNOLD, Mo. (AP) - Fire officials say a man is in critical condition after being rescued from a fire at his duplex in Arnold.

According to Ron Harder, spokesman for the Rock Community Fire Protection District, firefighters responded to a call about a fire around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Harder said that fire crews saw heavy smoke at the home and found the man unconscious on the floor inside.

The man, who has not been identified, was rescued and the fire was put out. Harder said the man suffered burns and smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
