RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) - Law enforcement officials say 29 people are facing state and federal drug charges after a series of arrests in Vermont’s Bennington and Rutland counties.

Police say that as a result of the Tuesday arrests 19 defendants are now facing state charges and 10 additional individuals are facing federal charges.

The arrests were for the sale or possession heroin, cocaine and other regulated drugs and other charges.

The arrests came after a year-long investigation by the Vermont Drug Task Force along with federal law enforcement agencies.
