MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. (AP) - The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended the search for a missing boater off central Florida’s Atlantic coastline.

The search for 38-year-old Lloyd Chamberlain ended Tuesday.

A friend reported Chamberlain missing around 10 p.m. Sunday.

Florida Today (https://on.flatoday.com/1SS6iiU ) reports the friend told officials Chamberlain had gone fishing and was expected home by dusk Sunday.

Coast Guard Petty Officer Steve Lehman says Chamberlain’s 17-foot recreational boat was found in the surf near Indian Harbor Beach on Sunday night. They found Chamberlain’s cellphone inside.
