BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals has reopened the final oyster harvest area closed in December on the east side of the Mississippi River.

Oyster harvest area 1 reopened Tuesday.

The department closed the entire area Dec. 11 after red tide was found.

Harvest area 5 reopened Jan. 20; areas 6 and 7 reopened Jan. 13 and areas 2, 3 and 4 reopened Feb. 7.
