BALDWIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a northern Lower Peninsula woman who was the subject of an extensive search after she was reported missing last week has been found dead.

State police Sgt. Pete McNamara tells The Bay City Times (https://bit.ly/1XzT2OL0 ) that searchers on Wednesday night found the body of Angela Kay Bartman in a wooded area of Iosco County’s Baldwin Township, about 300 yards from where her vehicle was earlier found.

McNamara says the vehicle likely became stuck and ran out of gas, prompting Bartman to get out and walk. He says she wasn’t dressed for winter weather and it appears she got disoriented.

McNamara says foul play isn’t suspected. She was last reported seen Feb. 9 when she left her home in National City to visit a nearby gas station.
