TAHOE CITY, Calif. (AP) - Officials say two vehicles have been struck by avalanches near a Tahoe City-area ski resort. No injuries have been reported.

Fire crews say an avalanche hit a vehicle carrying two Alpine Meadows ski resort workers Thursday morning, pushing the car into a home that sustained minimal damage. A second avalanche struck another vehicle with one occupant.

Crews worked to clear the road, which was reopened to traffic about five hours later.

Officials at the resort say ski operations were shut down for the rest of the day due to high avalanche danger.
