ORDWAY, Colo. (AP) - An inmate who was killed in a state prison in Ordway last week has been identified as 60-year-old Bryce L. Goodin.

The Denver Post reports (https://tinyurl.com/zuf4gyy) Crowley County District Attorney Jim Bullock released Goodin’s identity Thursday and said the death was a homicide.

The cause of death hasn’t been released. State officials are investigating.

Goodin died Feb. 10 at the Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility.

He was convicted of child sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a child in 2002. He had been released after serving his sentence, but his wife, Mary Goodin, says he was sent back to prison in 2009 for violating the terms of his community supervision.

Mary Goodin says her husband was waiting to get into the second part of a prison treatment program for sex offenders.
