NEWCASTLE, Wyo. (AP) - Authorities say a 60-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash west of Newcastle.

Sgt. David Wagener with the Wyoming Highway Patrol says Gilbert Maestas, of Newcastle, was riding in the back seat of an SUV that lost traction on an ice-covered section of Wyoming Highway 450 on Wednesday morning and crashed into a ditch.

Maestas, who was one of four people in the SUV, was not wearing a seat belt. He died at a hospital.

The other three people in the vehicle also were hospitalized. Their conditions have not been released.

Maestas’ death marks the eighth on Wyoming highways so far this year.
