PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a teenage boy was shot to death and two others were wounded during a drug buy.

Police say officers responded around 11 p.m. Thursday to reports of shots being fired near Central and Southern.

Sgt. Vincent Lewis says the officers found a 17-year-old boy with life-threatening injuries.

Two men, ages 21 and 19, also had suffered gunshot wounds. A fourth person was found uninjured and hiding in some bushes.

Police say the 17-year-old was rushed to a hospital but did not survive.

The 19-year-old remains in critical condition. The 21-year-old is expected to recover.

Lewis says investigators believe the 17-year-old victim was meeting the other three for a planned drug sale that had “gone bad.”

Police did not say whether a suspect remains at large.
