BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say three people are dead following a southwest Florida crash on Interstate 75.

Local media outlets report that the crash occurred Thursday night.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that 67-year-old Diane Kiffner was driving an SUV north on I-75 in Manatee County when a tow truck moved into her lane and sideswiped her. The SUV began to spin and then overturned.

Investigators say two passengers, 68-year-old Leonard May and 65-year-old Lana May, both died at the scene. Kiffner and a third passenger, 69-year-old Paul Kiffner, were taken to a nearby hospital, where Diane Kiffner died.

FHP says the tow truck hit a tree and fence, and the driver sustained minor injuries.

Officials say the Mays were visiting Florida from Twinsburg, Ohio.
