SYLVESTER, Ga. (AP) - A southwest Georgia man is facing drug charges after a police officer asked to help unlock a car found bags of marijuana inside.

WALB-TV reports (bit.ly/1Qp1TmR) the car’s owner called Sylvester police for help Wednesday after his car was locked with the keys inside.

Lt. Ken Washington says an officer dispatched to help noticed a strong smell of marijuana when she opened the car door and found small bags of pot inside.

The car’s owner told police he didn’t know about the drugs and called 20-year-old Marvis Jordan, who was inside the house where the car was parked. Police say Jordan was charged with marijuana possession - and for an outstanding warrant - after he said the pot was his.

It was not immediately known if Jordan had an attorney.
